Vetala are a kind of demi-demon who possess the bodies of the recently dead. They appear in the short story V Plates where they had been summoned by the Necromancer Darlene and were possessing the bodies of her prostitutes. They stated they wanted to have the bodies of Nicholas Sorrentino and Reese Williams instead but when NIck killed Darlene and became their new master they were happy to be released from the bodies of the women, why they were summoned is unknown.
